Description: Hydrants are maintained both publicly and privately. City owned public hydrants are flushed and painted yearly. Hydrants are also used as a method to help in leak detection which is also done yearly. Multiple web apps have been developed for the water department -- Hydrant Painting Web Map, Lebanon Hydrant Flushing Web Map and Water Hydrant Leak Detection Web Map. There are other publicly owned hydrants which are represented by County, Township, Greater Cincinnati Water Works, and Western Water. It is the responsibility of these owners to maintained their hydrants.Hydrants are maintained and flushed privately. Each year the fire inspector goes to each privately owned hydrant facility, inspects the hydrants, and has the facility sign a document that states the care and maintenance of the hydrants.
